And the Trees Sang: Spiritual Poetry & Channeled Creativity

And the Trees Sang is a piece of spiritual poetry inspired by an extraordinary experience I had while walking my dog in the woods.

When I write poetry, it feels channeled—as though I'm simply taking dictation rather than trying to compose something. I hear the words coming through and have to write quickly to capture them; they usually arrive all at once and rarely need much polishing or rewriting. My method is to go into a meditative state, drop into my heart space, and ask it what it wants to say. It has a way of cutting through everything else and getting to the essence of what I'm thinking and feeling.
